This project, jointly undertaken by the New York City Departments of Environmental Protection and Transportation, provided a much needed upgrade to the infrastructure of the Springfield Gardens section of Queens, New York. The project included the installation of new drainage infrastructure, upgrading existing sanitary sewers and water mains, the reconstruction of local streets at elevated grades and improvements to the existing natural open water system in the area.

SiteWorks provided resident engineering and construction phase field design support services associated with streetscape improvements including more than 25,000 square feet of new porous concrete installed in the roadway median to reduce run-off and promote groundwater infiltration to support newly planted trees and other vegetation. SiteWorks was also responsible for the oversight of 3.5 acres of newly constructed wetlands and tidal marshes, helping to improve the water quality of the adjacent Jamaica Bay. As part of the wetland creation and restoration work, SiteWorks oversaw extensive soil excavation replacement, detailed micro-grading, and the layout of more than 89,000 trees, shrubs, grasses and plants.
